Our Mission…
To make self-sufficiency and Queer liberation possible for all Queer people through sustainable agriculture practices at any scale
The need: Food Insecurity in the Queer Community
Food insecurity is a significant issue within Queer communities, often impacting individuals facing intersectional marginalization such as Queer people of color, our trans family, and Queer youth. Queer youth experience food insecurity at disproportionately high rates compared to their heterosexual and cisgender peers. Approximately one in four Queer youth face hunger, with rates even higher among transgender and non-binary youth. This disparity can be attributed to various factors, including discrimination, rejection by family members, homelessness, and economic challenges(Food Insecurity Among LGBTQ Youth - Williams Institute).
The Queer community faces systemic barriers that make food insecurity a persistent issue. Queer individuals are more likely to experience poverty, unemployment, and mental health issues, all of which can limit access to nutritious and affordable food. Our Values…
Rooted in Community
Rooted in a rich history of queer resilience and land stewardship, we draw inspiration from the queer cowboys of the Old West, radical lesbian separatist communities, and other queer farming movements that have shaped the landscape of self-reliance and communal care. The Queer community is the foundation of everything we are striving to build. Our strength lies in our collective resilience, support, and shared experiences. By coming together, we create a space where everyone can thrive as they are.

Liberation Begins with Education
At the heart of our mission is the belief that knowledge empowers individuals to reclaim autonomy over their lives. Through our educational programs, we equip Queer communities with the skills and resources needed to grow their own food, fostering both personal and collective liberation. By connecting people to sustainable practices, we break down the barriers of food insecurity and create pathways for environmental stewardship and self-sufficiency.
